>> dana: grady trimble reporting for fox business live at the white house this morning. >> inflation is still high but new numbers out this morning show it could be easing. a sign that the federal reserve could slow interest rate hikes when they meet next week. the numbers show consumer spending is down from the previous month which is not a good sign for the economy. it means it could be slowing. that's not stopping president biden from painting a rosie pick the tour on the economy in a speech thursday he touted the latest gdp number but failed to mention it fell from the previous quarter. business investment is down as well. >> president biden: over the past six months inflation has gone down every month and god willing will continue to do that. manufacturing jobs continue to go up stronger than any time in the last 40 years. i don't think it's unfair to say this is all evidence that the biden economic plan because you all is actually working.
7:03 am
>> the president's critics say he is ignoring what most economists agree are indicators of a possible recession later this year. >> he is completely out of touch with what's going on in the real economy. his inflation brought about by extraordinary amounts of spending not only from the pandemic but in his administration the last two years. >> president biden launched a new line of attack against house republicans who he calls maga republicans. he says they want to raise gas prices and cut social security and medicare, dana, even though house speaker kevin mccarthy says none of it is true. >> dana: the battle is staged. thank you. right now we're counting down the minutes for the release of video showing the attack on paul pelosi. you remember this. the husband of former house speaker nancy pelosi was asleep inside their san francisco home in october and someone broke in and beat him with a hammer.

7:05 am
a third man there, did they know the attacker? it is all stuff that body camera footage will put to rest. >> bill: i don't think many people have seen it outside of police. it is 2:30 in the morning and dark. i don't know what we'll see. maybe there is a light on inside the house, maybe outside, maybe police had flashlights. >> nancy pelosi had exorcism in her home after this attack to cleanse it of evil spirits. i definitely want to know what it looked like. >> dana: no body cam video of that. just this. we'll find that out and authorities making reporters go and get a physical cd-rom copy of the body cam. sometime today you'll see that. you've been covering hunter biden an the swirling story of classified document found at the home of his father. look here. this is james comer from capitol hill. >> we know hunter biden had access to those documents and

7:07 am
be no cooperation from the administration and the plan has always been to get the sars directly from the banks who will cooperate, i'm told. >> dana: we'll follow it through you. >> bill: comer's last comment there were these classified document part of the influence peddling scheme? a lot of republicans asking that question whether or not they can get an answer is something we wait for. last comment? >> hunter was doing major deals while living at the delaware house in china, some of it. one of thoseeed to get answers . >> bill: thank you, nice to see you. seven minutes past the hour. it is championship weekend in the nfl. oh boy. four very good teams still playing. brock purdy and the 49ers travel to philadelphia battling the eagles. the first game you can see it on fox 3:00 eastern time sunday. then at 6:30 the kansas city

tom brady. you're spending a lot of audio time with him. will he play next season, jim? >> he doesn't know so certainly i don't know. he is in the process of making that decision. he likes to be playing football right now the season just ended. disappointing season for him because of what went on with the tampa bay buccaneers this year so it will be difficult to say just exactly what he is going to do. don't know why the camera keeps moving back and forth. this remote camera here wants to wander away and we'll see what tom brady does. right now in his mind he is trying to make that decision. >> bill: you are getting burrow warmed up to spot you down the field. enjoy the games. thanks for being here today. >> dana: bobbing and weaving. >> how do you like it, bill? not trying to avoid, dana. love dana. >> dana: have a good weekend. >> bill: no predictions now.

risk to national security since there is no way to know where they are from or what their intentions might be. matt finn tracking the story in eagle pass, texas. good morning, matt. >> good morning, dana. the biden administration is touting that the weekly average of migrant encounters at the southern border has plummeted from december to january. that really isn't giving the full scope of what's happening here at the border for a few reasons. first the biden administration says the seven day average only includes four countries cuba, haiti, nicaragua and venezuela. two and more notable migrant encounters don't include the gotaways, the people who intentionally evade surrender. there were 278,000 gotaways in the first 113 days of fiscal year 2023. 1.2 million since president biden took office. and third, under president biden's new parole program 30,000 migrants per month are basically being given temporary legal status.
7:56 am
greg abbott says that program could increase migration. >> the reason is because the biden administration is basically granting parolee status to these people coming across the border illegally and all that will do is to spur even more people to rush the border, thinking that they, too, will get parolee status. >> and the back drop to any weekly dip in migrant encounters is last month the u.s. government reported more than 250,000 migrant encounters in a single month. the highest ever, dana. >> dana: highest ever. keep that in mind. matt finn, thank you. >> bill: so the walter payton nfl man of the year award honors the player for excellence on and off the field. each team nominates one player every year who made a positive impact in the communities. they bring awareness and funding to countless charities and you too can get involved through a new online fundraising platform
